The Gujarat government has launched an ambitious healthcare program called Niramay Gujarat Yojana. As part of this program, the government will conduct health checks. Screenings are conducted to identify any ailments. Over 30-year-olds in the state will be screened for various diseases, including diabetes and cancer. More than three crore citizens over the age of 30 will be covered by the health checkup program.
All non-communicable diseases will be examined. health check-up schemes will be used to diagnose diseases and conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, paralysis, cancer, kidney trouble, and diabetes as early as possible. All primary health centers (PHC), community health centers (CHC), and government hospitals will perform check-ups every Friday. Niramay Yojana Gujarat
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the Niramay Gujarat Yojana on 12 November 2024. In the Banaskantha district, the Gujarat Chief Minister announced the healthcare scheme in Palanpur.
This scheme was formally implemented on 12 November 2024, when the Gujarat government announced its re-election, dignitaries, including ministers, legislators, and MPs, attended the district-level events.
The need for the Niramay Gujarat Free Healthcare Screening Scheme
Blood pressure, diabetes, heart attacks, and cancer are noncommunicable diseases that claim more lives than communicable diseases. Under Niramay Gujarat Yojana, the state government will conduct health check-ups for everyone above the age of 30. This scheme will cover 3 crore citizens.

Every Friday, government healthcare centers and hospitals will screen people under the age of 30 for free. The beneficiaries will receive a new Niramay Gujarat Card that will contain their findings and health status. In private facilities, a comprehensive health check-up costs approximately Rs. 12,000 per person. Each family will save between Rs 10,000 and 12,000 on medical expenses every year. The state Labour and Employment Department will now be known as the Labour, Skills, and Employment Department, according to another cabinet decision. A notification will be forthcoming in this regard.
