In the recent interaction with media, Finance minister Nirmala Sitharam stated that the government is all set to launch a digital learning platform from the students namely “PM E Vidya Program“. Key features of Pradhan Mantri E Vidya Digital Education Initiative:

  • Dedicated TV Channels Per Class (From 1st Class to 12th Class)
  • Online Courses by Universities. Top 100 universities are permitted to start online courses from 30th May 2020
  • One-stop solution for all learning needs of the students

Although almost every sector has suffered during the COVID 19 epidemic, students are also unable to continue with the regular studies as the school, colleges are universities remain closed. Keeping this in mind, it was important that the government do something to ensure they continue their studies. While talking during the last phase of 20 Lakhs Crore package of AtmNirbhar Bharat, the Finance minister talked about the PM E-Vidya initiative which will ensure that digital education is being served.

Although during the interaction with media, the Finance minister didn’t give detailed information regarding this initiative, it is however expected that the concerned department is going to release the official portal for the same. To make the process more easier, the mobile app may be made available (Both for Android & iOS) so that students can’t easily study via their mobile phones.

To keep record of students, it is important that online student registration is introduced which is very likely. Once launched, we can see the registration form at the official PM E Vidya Website.
