What Has Happened So Far:

• Final NRC Draft List was released on 30th July 2018. Out of 3.29 Crore Registered Names, More than 40 Lakh Applicants were excluded from the list.

• These Excluded People had the option to claim inclusion. Out of these 40 Lakh People, 36.2 People filed inclusion request

• On 26th July 2020, NRC Published Additional Draft List in which More than 1.02 Lakh people were excluded, So that total number of Excluded people become More than 41 Lakh 10 thousand

NRC Assam Final List 2020: What is the Release Date

The Final NRC List gets released at 10:00 am on 31st August 2020. Using the Steps Given in the later section of the article, you can check Final NRC Assam Status.

In order to Check the Final NRC Status as on 31st August, you should know your Application Receipt Number (ARN). This is the Number that was allotted to you after the submission of online form. If you have lost your ARN Number, you can call customer care to recover the number. Here are the helpline numbers:

• Dial 15107 if you are within Assam

• Dial 18003453762 if your Currently Outside of Assam

Follow these steps to Check Name in NRC Assam List:

• Visit the Official Portal i.e. nrcassam.nic.in

• Once the Homepage opens up, Go to the NRC Highlights Section

• Now, look for the section that says “Supplementary Inclusions/Exclusions Lists (Final NRC) status”

• Click on the Link to Proceed

• Now, in the next page, Enter your ARN Number, Captcha Code & Hit the “Search” Button

• Now, after the Page Loads, you will see if your name is Included or Excluded in the National Register of Citizens, NRC Assam.

If you are not connected to the Internet, you can see if your name is included or excluded in the list by visiting the Nearest Seva Kendra. You can Find the Nearest Seva Kendra or NSK using these Steps:

• Select your District, Circle, Village 

• Then you can see the Location of Nearest NSK

• If your Name Doesn’t Exist in Final NRC List, you can’t be declared foreigners till all legal options are exhausted

• As per Home Ministry, minimum 1000 Tribunals will be set up to hear Disputed Cases. If you lose the case in the Tribunal you can approach High Court then the Supreme Court. If after all this, you still can’t provide evidence in your favor, then you will be declared foreigner.
