To ensure misuse of online services and ensure security, the Aadhaar authentication system is placed. This system identifies the applicant or service consumer by using their Aadhaar Card information. To verify yourself, you need to provide the OTP (or TOTP) sent to your aadhaar linked mobile number. Once filled, your identity will be confirmed and you may proceed.

This system is simple & secure but every now & then people face Aadhaar Authentication related problems online. These errors appear while the user is trying to verify himself while utilizing any online service (mostly government service-related). The errors that appear are :

If you are experiencing authentication errors while using any other service like GST Filing, Linking your Aadhaar Card with any service, Applying for PM Kisan Yojana, or any other similar scheme, Here are the possible causes:

  1. Your Mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar Card
  2. Your Email ID is not linked to Aadhaar Card
  3. There is a temporary Server Side problem

So, if you are consistently facing this issue, please ensure that your mobile number & email are linked with your Aadhaar Card. In many cases Email ID is not registered with Aadhaar, so that could be the issue. You can link your Mobile number & Email ID to your aadhaar from HERE.

In very rare cases, there could be a temporary server-side issue that may trigger this problem. So in that case, you need to wait for few minutes and try again.
